The Art of Hospitality

What does it truly mean to be hospitable?

Throughout the semester, I have been seeking what it means to be hospitable. How can one truly master the art of hospitality? By helping with a range of events, I have learned the pure simplcity and beauty of hospitality.

Whether it was through unique goodie bags, curated table settings, or livley conversation, I was activley creating a space of hospitality. With such attention to detail, every guest leaves feeling special and with a high quality memory.

At each event, I have learned to treat everyone as if they are entering my own home. As the host, you set the tone for the guests, therefore is important to meet them with a gracious and kind spirit.

In my years of knowing Philip, I have watched him be the hostess with the mostess. He makes all guests feel welcome. The biggest lesson I learned was the importance of checking in with each guest. For example, at the Winemaker Dinner Philip ensured he visted with each table, engaged in dynamic coversation, and thanked everyone for participating.

Hospitality Hack: Check in with your guests. Acknowledging a guest makes them feel all the more special.

It is was such a simple gesture, but brought such joy to the guests. By acknowledging the guests, Philip created a thoughtful and memorable environment. With this guidance, I feel steps closer to mastering the art of hospitality.
