Pop-up Shop with Peyton and Eleni

Music On the Lawn had its very own Pop-up shop.

There is no better way to wrap up summer than live music with the Chapel sitting perfectly behind. Music On The Lawn creates a wonderful event for the Saint Mary’s and Moraga community. Throughout this event, I along with my co-worker Peyton worked selling vintage Saint Mary’s apparel at the pop-up shop. To prepare, we organized the apparel by like item and size. Additionally, we set up our point of sale system. Within GiveSmart, we had to give each customer a profile and add the desired item(s). From there, we were able to charge them either cash or card. At first our booth had steady, controllable foot traffic. However, as the night went on the line was getting much longer! Our system moved a bit slowly, but customers were patient and more than appreciative. There were a few moments, Peyton and I felt overwhelmed by the customers as they asked for more sizes and styles.

Hospitality Hack: Stay calm and work as a team!

We worked together and had fun while doing so. Customers were so happy with their new items and loved reminiscing their college years with us too. It was rewarding to help people find some SMC swag to take home and sport their gael pride.
